Dinosaurs in the Wild

Travel back 67 million years in time to a research base devoted to studying dinosaurs!

I am a HUGE dinosaur geek, so this was super exciting for me! There were primarily families there, however, I would totally recommend for adults as well!

Upon arrival, my group was led into a time travelling machine, where we were transported back in time 67 million years. Luckily, once we got there, this time machine became an armoured car that can safely drove us to the research base. Along the way we saw dinosaurs wandering around in there natural habitat as well as accidentally running into a few! This is all made possible with the 3D glasses and window (screens) inside of the transport.

Once we made it to the base, we were taken on a tour of the facilities. The first room was a laboratory filled with many exciting specimens, including this giant Alamosaurus heart!

I also chose to help out the lab by sifting through some dinosaur poo to see what they had been eating. Don't worry, I was wearing gloves!

We were then led into an operating theatre, were a scientist talked us through the autopsy of this dinosaur. He was trying to figure out how it had died, and talked us through some of the science behind how he was doing this.

After a bit of a bird flu fright (that what killed the dino!) you are rushed away to the nursery. After a baby dinosaur hatches out of its egg, you get to head along to see some more big dinosaurs and narrowly miss a Tyrannosaurus attack!

Finally, we were led to the 'viewing deck' where we were able to watch the dinosaurs with the help of our 3D glasses. There were different dinosaurs up to different activities throughout. Dinosaurs in the Wild certainly didn't sugar-coat this part! This Mummy Triceratops is looking for her baby in the lake, after it was eaten by a sea creature! YIKES!

After a little while, we were informed by loudspeaker that a Tyrannosaurus had been spotted and we needed to be careful! Apparently we weren't careful enough though, because he came right up to the window and charged at us. The glass started to break and we were all escorted to an emergency escape pod! Luckily there was a time machine in the basement, so we made it out alive!

I had an absolutely fabulous time!
